If you want to give visitors a direct way to reach you on Signal, you can add a Signal button to your WordPress website without building a custom integration.
In this guide, I’ll use Bit Assist to add Signal as a floating contact channel, then show how to customize the widget, add optional fallback channels, and test everything on the front end. If you are still comparing tools, our guide to the mejores plugins de chat para WordPress gives you a broader look at the available options.
A Signal button is not an on-site live chat inbox. Bit Assist places Signal inside the floating widget as a contact channel. When a visitor chooses Signal, the conversation continues through Signal rather than inside WordPress.
That distinction matters for privacy claims too. The website button itself does not turn your WordPress site into an encrypted chat system. Signal’s own protections apply to the conversation once the visitor continues in Signal.
Because not every visitor uses Signal, adding a second contact option such as a Custom Form, email, WhatsApp, Telegrama, or another messaging channel can make the widget more useful.
Signal can make sense when your audience already uses it and may prefer messaging there instead of starting with a general contact form or public-facing social channel.
Privacy and security consultants often receive questions about audits, data handling, incidents, or internal systems. A Signal option gives prospective clients another way to start that conversation. Visitors should still avoid sending passwords, private keys, or other secrets unless you have a clear secure-intake process for them.
Developers, founders, and technical communities may already use Signal for direct communication. Adding it to the website can reduce the friction of finding the right contact route.
Some visitors may prefer to begin a sensitive inquiry through a private messaging app. Signal can be offered as an initial contact option, but it should not be presented as a replacement for a firm’s formal intake, confidentiality, or records process.
Organizations working with volunteers, communities, or sensitive topics may also find Signal useful when their audience already relies on it. The important part is giving visitors a clear choice of contact channels instead of assuming everyone uses the same app.
The screenshots below follow Bit Assist’s current widget flow: Channels → Customizations → Settings → Analytics. You only need the first few steps to get Signal working; the extra channels and advanced controls are optional.
Desde tu panel de WordPress, ve a Plugins → Add New Plugin. Buscar Bit Assist, luego instala y activa el plugin.

After activation, open Bit Assist in the WordPress admin area. You can now create the floating widget that will hold your Signal button.
Abre el panel de control de Bit Assist y haz clic en Añadir Widget. This creates a new widget and takes you into the widget editor.

The editor opens on the Canales tab. Click Añadir Canal to choose the contact option you want to add.

En el Create New Channel panel, select Señal. You can also use the search box if you do not want to scan the full channel list.

The Signal channel editor lets you set the Title, upload a Custom image, and enter the Número de teléfono visitors should contact. It also includes an On click open channel on option, a Hide after office hours toggle (Pro), and desktop/mobile visibility controls.
Enter the phone number associated with the Signal account you want visitors to reach, then review the other options before saving.

Save the channel. On the front end, Signal will appear as one of the options inside your floating Bit Assist widget.

Click the Signal channel yourself to confirm that it opens the intended Signal destination instead of assuming the phone number is configured correctly.

If some visitors do not use Signal, you can add a Formulario personalizado to the same widget. Go back to Canales, click Añadir Canal, and choose Formulario personalizado.
In the Custom Form editor, add the fields you actually need. In this example, the form uses an Correo electrónico field and a Text field. You can also edit the button text, success message, response-storage option, and other form settings shown in the editor.

After saving, open the widget on the front end and submit a test entry so you know the fallback form works before visitors use it.

You can also add an PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES channel for common questions that do not need a conversation. FAQ is a Pro self-service channel, so this step only applies if your Bit Assist plan includes it.
From Canales, click Añadir Canal y seleccionar PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES.

Inside the FAQ editor, add the questions and answers you want visitors to see. The editor also lets you reorder entries, add more FAQs, and adjust the FAQ colors.

Save the channel and check how the FAQ opens inside the widget on your website.

A continuación, abre el Personalizaciones tab. This is where you control the visual presentation of the widget rather than editing the Signal channel itself.
From the screen shown below, you can work with options such as Widget Name, Estilo del Widget, Color del Widget, y Icono de Widget. The Customizations area also includes controls for position, size, shape, offsets, and device visibility, depending on the option you are editing.

Keep the floating button easy to notice without covering navigation, forms, cookie notices, or checkout controls. Always check the placement on a real mobile screen as well as desktop.
Open the Ajustes tab to control how and when the widget appears. The current screen includes options such as Widget Insignia activa, Filtros de página, Widget de activación, Call To Action, Comportamiento del widget, Atención Animación, and Google Analytics-related controls.
Horario comercial y Filtros de página are Pro features. Other advanced controls can also depend on your plan. You do not need to enable every setting just to use Signal, so start with the default behavior and add triggers or attention effects only when they improve the experience.

Now open your website in a normal browser window and test the complete flow. Open the floating widget, choose Señal, and make sure it points to the Signal account you intended to use.

Repeat the test on mobile. Also open any fallback channels you added, such as Custom Form or FAQ, so you know visitors are not being sent into a broken path.
If you use Bit Assist Pro, open the Analítica tab after the widget has started receiving traffic. Bit Assist Widget Analytics is designed for aggregate engagement data such as visitors, clicks, click rate, and channel activity. It is not a visitor-level CRM or complete conversion analytics system.

First, go back to Canales and confirm that Signal is still added to the widget. Then check the channel’s desktop/mobile visibility options and any page filters or business-hour rules you have enabled. If you recently changed the widget, save the changes and reload the front end before troubleshooting anything deeper.
Edit the Signal channel and recheck the Número de teléfono field and On click open channel on setting. Test the button again after saving. This is more reliable than assuming the number is correct because the Signal icon appears on the page.
Open Personalizaciones and review the widget position, size, and offsets. Check the live page on a phone and make sure the floating button does not overlap menus, form buttons, consent banners, or WooCommerce controls.
Adding Signal to WordPress with Bit Assist is mainly a three-part job: create the widget, add and configure the Signal channel, then test the destination on the live page.
The extra Bit Assist features are useful when you need them, but they should support the contact and conversion experience rather than complicate it. A Custom Form gives non-Signal users another way to reach you, FAQ can answer repetitive questions, and the Customizations and Settings tabs help you control how the widget looks and behaves.
Most importantly, describe the feature accurately: the website button sends visitors toward Signal; the actual Signal conversation does not happen inside your WordPress dashboard.
Yes. With a WordPress contact widget such as Bit Assist, you can add Signal from the plugin interface without writing code. You still need to configure the Signal phone number and test the button after saving.
They may not be able to continue the conversation through Signal, so it is useful to offer another contact option. Bit Assist can place channels such as Custom Form, email, WhatsApp, Telegram, or other supported options in the same floating widget.
No. The button is a contact path that sends the visitor toward Signal. Signal’s security protections apply to the conversation in Signal; adding the button does not turn the WordPress website itself into an encrypted messaging system.
Use the Customizations controls to choose a suitable position, size, and offsets, then test the live page on desktop and mobile. Make sure the widget does not cover navigation, forms, consent banners, or checkout controls.
Yes. Bit Assist is a multi-channel widget, so Signal can sit alongside other supported messaging, contact, and self-service channels. Availability can differ between the free and Pro versions, so check the current plan for the channels you want to use.
It can be, especially when the audience already uses Signal and prefers to continue a conversation there. Present it as one contact option rather than implying that the website itself becomes private or encrypted because a Signal button is present.
